Terms of Service

Last updated 15 September 2026. These terms are an agreement between you and MoneyWise Teen AI (“MoneyWise”, “we”), operated from Madison, Dane County, Wisconsin, United States. By creating an account or using the app, you agree to them.

Short version: MoneyWise is a free education app for ages 13 and over. It teaches money skills using numbers you type in yourself. It never connects to a bank, never moves real money, and never gives you personal financial advice.

1. Who can use MoneyWise

You must be at least 13 years old. MoneyWise is designed for ages 13 to 21 in the United States, and anyone 13 or over is welcome to learn with it. If you are under 18, we encourage you to review these terms with a parent or guardian, and by using MoneyWise you confirm your parent or guardian permits it.

Features that record real business income and expenses are limited to users 18 and over. Under 18, those features run in practice mode only.

One account per person. Keep your login details to yourself.

2. Financial disclaimer — education, not advice

MoneyWise provides general financial education. Nothing in the app — lessons, quizzes, games, the AI coach, insight cards, the simulators, the Money Wiseness score, the practice portfolio, or any number or projection we display — is individualized financial, investment, tax, accounting or legal advice, an offer or recommendation to buy or sell any security, or a promise of any outcome.

We are not a bank, broker-dealer, investment adviser, tax preparer, lender or financial planner, and we are not licensed as any of those. No money is ever transferred, invested, deposited or withdrawn through MoneyWise, and MoneyWise does not connect to your real bank, brokerage or card accounts.

Practice trades, projections, simulations and life scenarios use simplified assumptions and made-up or self-entered figures. Real markets, prices, taxes, fees and interest behave differently. Market and economic data comes from third-party and public sources, may be delayed, and may contain errors.

Before making a real financial decision, talk to a licensed professional or a trusted adult. Any decision you make is yours.

3. AI disclosure

The coach, the insight cards and the document scanner are powered by third-party AI models accessed through the Lovable AI Gateway. When you send a message or scan a document, your text and a summary of the money figures you entered in the app are sent to that provider so it can generate a reply. See the Privacy Policy for exactly what is shared.

AI output can be wrong, out of date, or confidently misleading, and scanned amounts and dates can be misread — always check the numbers before you save them. Treat the coach as a study partner, never as a professional. Do not paste account numbers, card numbers, passwords, Social Security numbers or ID documents into chat or the scanner.

To keep the coach available to everyone for free, each account can ask a limited number of questions per day. That limit can change.

4. MoneyWise is free

MoneyWise is free to use. There are no paid plans, upgrades, in-app purchases or paywalls, we do not sell your personal information, and we do not run targeted advertising. If that ever changes, we will tell you in the app first, and existing learning features will not be put behind a paywall retroactively.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

break, overload, scrape, reverse-engineer or probe the app or its backend; try to reach data that is not yours; create accounts for other people or lie about your age; harass, bully, impersonate or post hateful, sexual or threatening content anywhere other users can see it, including leaderboards, display names, comments and feedback; upload documents or images you have no right to share; use the app to promote scams, gambling, or anything illegal; or use MoneyWise to give other people financial advice as if it came from us.

We may remove content, reset a display name, or suspend or close an account that breaks these rules or puts other users at risk.

6. Your content and what we may show others

You keep ownership of everything you enter — your goals, numbers, notes, scans, chats and feedback. You give us permission to store and process it only to run the app for you, as described in the Privacy Policy.

Some things are visible to others by design: your display name, weekly XP and streak appear on the league board, and comments you post on feed items are visible to other users. If you invite a parent or guardian, they see only the categories you approve, and you can revoke that at any time.

7. Our content

The MoneyWise name, the beaver mascot, the lessons, copy, design, code and other app content are owned by us or used with permission, and are protected by copyright and trademark law. You may use them to learn with the app; you may not copy, resell, redistribute or republish them, or use them to train another model or build a competing product, without our written permission. Public data from U.S. government sources is attributed in the app and remains subject to its own terms.

8. Accounts and termination

You can stop using MoneyWise at any time and request deletion of your account and data by emailing supportmoneywiseteen@gmail.com with the subject “Account Deletion Request”. We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms, if we are required to by law, or if we discontinue the service. If we discontinue MoneyWise, we will give reasonable notice in the app so you can save anything you want to keep.

9. Availability, and no warranties

MoneyWise is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. We do not promise the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any content, calculation, AI answer or third-party data is accurate or complete.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, MoneyWise and anyone working with us will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any lost money, lost profits, lost savings, lost data, or financial decisions you or anyone else makes based on the app. Because MoneyWise is free, our total liability to you for any claim relating to the service is limited to one hundred U.S. dollars (US$100).

Some states do not allow certain exclusions, so parts of this section may not apply to you. Nothing here limits liability that cannot legally be limited.

11. Indemnity

If your misuse of MoneyWise or your breach of these terms causes a claim against us, you agree to cover the reasonable costs of that claim, to the extent permitted by law. If you are under 18, this applies to your parent or guardian.

12. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wisconsin, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Dane County, Wisconsin, and you and we consent to that jurisdiction. Before filing anything, please email us — almost everything can be sorted out directly.

13. Changes to these terms

If we make a meaningful change, we will say so in the app before it takes effect and update the date at the top. Continuing to use MoneyWise after that means you accept the updated terms.
